Arturo Alvarez is president of Latin America and Electrical Distribution Systems for Aptiv. Mr. Alvarez has global responsibility for the Electrical Distribution Systems business. He also works alongside the regional executive team on cross-divisional initiatives and leads the stewardship of Aptiv’s relationships with government and building stronger ties to the communities where we operate.
Mr. Alvarez joined Aptiv in January 2019 as vice president and managing director for Electrical Distribution Systems in North America, and in May 2022 was named president, Electrical Distribution Systems.
Mr. Alvarez began his engineering career in the aerospace industry in 1994, as a manufacturing engineer for the commercial segment of F-16 aircraft wiring harnesses.
In 1995, Mr. Alvarez joined United Technologies Automotive, which would later be acquired by Lear Corporation. Throughout his 24 years at Lear Corporation, he worked in multiple areas, including Human Resources, Quality, Engineering and Operations for various commercial segments, Electronics, Terminals and Connectors and Wiring Harness. Between 1995 and 2018 he held various positions at Lear, including Regional and Department Manager, Plant Manager, Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Alvarez graduated from the Instituto Tecnologico de Chihuahua with a degree in Electronics Engineering and Industrial Engineering. In addition, Mr. Alvarez holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the same institution. Mr. Alvarez has a multicultural approach, as a result of 14 years of international assignments, in several countries and continents around the world, including Mexico, Central America, Africa, Europe and Asia Pacific.
